Dr. Carlissa Wittner
Obstetrics and Gynecology
Carlissa Wittner was born and raised in Regina, Sk. She comes from a long history of farmers. Carlissa’s father was the first in her family to attend University and was the driving force behind her academic career.
Carlissa attended the University of Regina (1993-1995) and the University of Saskatchewan (1995-1999) for her pre-med and medical schooling. She then spent 5 years at the University of Alberta (1999-2004) and obtained her Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons Fellowship in Obstetrics and Gynecology.
Carlissa has worked at the Grey Nun’s Hospital in Edmonton, AB since her graduation in 2004.
Over the past 17+ years her approach to life and medicine has evolved into a more comprehensive and holistic approach.
Like all doctors at the South Edmonton Women’s Care Clinic, she is committed to providing a comprehensive approach to women’s care. She provides obstetric and gynecologic surgical care at the Grey Nun’s Hospital.

Maternity and obstetrical care including low and high risk pregnancies
- Low risk mom’s
- Diabetes in pregnancy
- High blood pressure in pregnancy
- Twin pregnancy
- Placenta abnormalities such as low lying placenta, marginal or complete previa, Velamentous cord insertion
- Previous caesarean section patients who want to have a vaginal delivery or a repeat
- Caesarean sections with dissolvable suture closure (no staples)

- Office endometrial biopsy procedure
- Endometrial ablations
- Laparoscopic hysterectomy
- Treatment for Menorrhagia
